A PROVEN REFERENCE: NORTH AMERICA’S FIRST FULL-SCALE CYCLOR® TURBO SITE
East St. Paul, Manitoba BOOK YOUR TECHNOLOGY VALIDATION VISITPROJECT BACKGROUND & CHALLENGES
East St. Paul had reached a familiar challenge facing many municipalities: years of population growth and aging infrastructure had constrained wastewater treatment capacity, limiting the municipality’s ability to support new development without significant investment in plant expansion.
THE NEXOM ANSWER
Rather than constructing an entirely new facility, East St. Paul partnered with Nexom to implement Cyclor® Turbo, a SUEZ technology, and unlocked additional capacity and treatment performance, creating a practical pathway toward future growth by first maximizing value within the existing footprint.
Today, the project serves as North America’s first full-scale Cyclor Turbo reference site, demonstrating how improved AGS-based intensification can be integrated into an operating municipal treatment facility while maintaining plant operations.
Project Highlights:
- Retrofit implementation within an operating municipal sequencing batch reactor (SBR) facility
- Validated under cold-climate operating conditions
- Integration within existing infrastructure
- Accelerated construction and commissioning timeline (approximately six months)
- Collaboration between Regional Municipality of East St. Paul, Stantec, SUEZ, and Nexom
