Aeration is at the heart of efficient biological wastewater treatment, accounting for 40% – 70% of a plant’s total energy consumption. Fine bubble aeration diffusers play an important role in delivering increased oxygen transfer efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and operational reliability. This presentation will discuss key design considerations to optimize membrane diffusers including diffuser diffuser density in the tank or basin, operating pressure limitations, and oxygen transfer efficiency (OTE).
